Pixol

Create your own animations, pictures, and effects on a square 8-bit pixel display with bits of code the size of a text message. Share the results as pictures or animated GIFs with your friends.

Inspired by classic 8-bit computers and graphing calculators, Pixol gives you a 101x101 pixel, 256-color canvas which you control from a command input field. Import photos from your camera or library and change them, or draw pictures from scratch with mathematical functions, shapes, and pixel-by-pixel commands.

Pixol comes with a gallery of examples to get you started. Take one and modify it, or build your own; play around, try different things, see how they look. When you have something you like, press the Share button and share an animation, a picture, or just the code itself. The app keeps a history of all your work so you can try things and go back as needed.
